How will frequency be handled?

There are 7 different flight lines on a 750 acre property. All flight lines will be running 4 pilots at a time on either EVEN or ODD channels based on proximity to the nearest flight line. The exceptions are 100 Gates and Micro Mayhem, which will be running 8 pilots at a time. To make your experience at Rampage the best it can be, make sure you know how to change your channel! For help, refer to our “Know Before You Go” video that will be emailed to you along with Welcome Information prior to the event.

Flight Line Channels:

  • Junkyard:

    • Analog: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

How much will I be able to fly?

We will have 7 different flight lines at Rampage! In order to keep every flight line moving for all pilots, each pilot will have a 4 minute flight time and 5 minutes for retrieval. Don’t worry, if you can’t find your drone within 5 minutes, you can wait for the next group to fly and go out and look again during the next 5 minute retrieval time.

GTI is a 750 acre facility, how will we get around?

There will be a safe walking path to each flight line that stays clear of all active fly areas. Please make sure to stay on the designated paths and do not go through restricted areas. There will also be a Rampage Golf Cart Transportation System running from a central location to each flight line.

How many drones can I bring?

As many as you want. However, each and every drone you bring into the festival MUST be presented for the Fail Safe Check, and pass. We will allow up to 3 drones per person to be checked at once.

OK, what is the the “Fail Safe” Procedure?

The Fail Safe Check is short and simple so we can make sure your craft is safe to operate.

See the Fail Safe Check page for more information on how to perform this.

What if it rains?

This is a RAIN or SHINE event. Unless you’re afraid of melting, come anyway.

Is there an age limit or requirement to attend the RAMPAGE?

This is not a child specific related event, however persons of any age may attend the event.

  • If attending for the day only persons 15 and older are permitted without a parent or guardian.

  • If staying on-site overnight all persons must be 15 and older, or have a parent/guardian present with them.

Parents and Minor Attendee will be required to agree to and sign a "PARENTAL CONSENT, RELEASE and WAIVER of LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION of RISK, and INDEMNITY AGREEMENT"

Can I fly wherever I want?

Ummmm – NO! There are designated flying areas. For both safety and legal concerns all flying must be contained within designated areas. Any area not specifically designated as a flying area is off limits. Anyone flying outside of designated areas will be removed from the event. Oh, and if you happen to cross into bordering DOE territory your drone will be a total loss, completely unrecoverable. But don’t worry, we’ll have the areas well marked, plus you are all super skilled pilots, right?

Can I come just for a day?

Of course you can, however, the prices for both Pilot Pass and Spectator Pass tickets are the same whether you attend one day or both.

What if I get hurt?

First of all, don’t get hurt! If it’s like you need a bandaid, or an eyewash we’ve got that covered. There will be a First Aid Kit at every flying area for minor injuries, the kind that don’t require a doctor or stitches. We will also have a trained / licensed EMT present on-site through the whole event for anything beyond a minor scrape.

Liability Release / Hold Harmless?

That means if you get hurt, you won’t sue us. Every person attending the RAMPAGE will be required to sign a Liability Waiver for Rotor Riot RAMPAGE, as well as a Hold Harmless Waiver for the venue owner GTI. These will be signed when during the on-site registration/check-in process.

CAN I ENTER THE EVENT WITH A CAMPING PASS?

No. You must have either a Pilot Pass or Spectator Pass in order to enter the event. Additionally the camping pass lets you set up a tent and RV at the event.

Is This An AMA Event?

No this is not an AMA event. At this time the event is in no way affiliated with, sanctioned by, nor connected to the AMA.

Can I volunteer to help at Rampage?
